Song background:

This song was composed in 1987 for my Grandmother, Sarah Viva Bates. We had spent many hours together in an Assisted Living home where she was a resident for several years. She was very elderly and had complete faith in her understanding of Eternal Life. But whe was ready to leave this life and was unable to enjoy much of anything other than our very quiet visits where we only sat holding hands and waiting. It was in those many long quiet times that I came to understand the reality of eternal family.
