Feed My Sheep

SATB

Arranged by Craig Petrie

An original song taken from John 21:15-17, where Jesus asks Peter three times, "Lovest thou me?"  The answer, repeated many times in the piece, also serves as the title.  Other passages in the song expand the sheep allegory to include reaching out to children, adults, and those who are lost.

Simon Peter, lovest thou me?

Yea Lord, thou knowest that I love thee.

Simon Peter, lovest thou me?

Yea Lord, thou knowest that I love thee.

Simon Peter, lovest thou me?

Lord, thou knowest all things.

Thou knowest that I love thee.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

Feed the baby lamb, so young and tender.

Feed the mother sheep as she grows old.

Feed the foolish lamb, as he may wander;

Keep him safely near within the fold.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

See the lamb who's lost, but meekly trying

To find the way that leads back home.

Can you hear him now, so softly crying?

See he finds the path, no more to roam.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

If ye love me, feed my sheep.

Feed my sheep,

Watch o'er my sheep,

Protect my sheep,

Go find my sheep,

Oh, love my sheep.

Simon Peter, do you love me?

Feed my sheep.
